The most recent fintech initiative started by MEIF, which aims to help the Ethical Equities team by making complex models which helps them with their research and screening.
Octave is a software platform built to assist both the investing and quant arm of MUTIS. The Octave team are in charge of the design, development and maintenance of the platform to ensure seamless integration in the teams' workflow.

Cost of Capital
To have our own systems in place, we decided to calculate the Weighted Average Cost Of Capital (WACC) in-house, and be less reliant on external calculations for the same. The WACC is an extremely important ratio while conducting a DCF analysis to identify if the company is overvalued or undervalued.
This tool generates a projected weighted cost of capital for a given, publicly traded, company, picked by its stock ticker.
Sentiment Analysis
One of the most important steps before you begin researching a company, is screening, which is where analysts filter out the bad companies from the good ones. Our goal with the Sentiment Analysis project, is to analyse the sentiment of the overall company, in a specific sector, within a specific country, and the sentiment is based on many ESG and Macroeconomic Parameters.
